COACHING

Coaching is a structured facilitation process between a coach and client to unleash potential, renew thinking patterns, enhance interpersonal relationships and improve overall well-being.

What is Coaching ?

Coaching is a structured facilitation process between a coach and coachee/client to unleash potential, renew thinking patterns, enhance interpersonal relationships and improve overall well-being. A coaching session between a coach and client is confidential and takes place in a supportive and “safe” environment. Continued rapport between both parties is vital to successful outcomes. The client is the most important person in this relationship.
Well- formed objectives and expected outcomes for each session are determined by the client. The role of the coach is to facilitate sessions by asking powerful questions in order for the individual to discover his/her own solutions to challenges or objectives.

We deal with the “here and now” and how to move forward in terms of the client’s journey to new meanings, new decisions, new actions and new ways of “being” the person he/she wants to be. The success of a coaching partnership depends on commitment, introspection, reflection, open communication and trust. The Enneagram has, over the past decades, proven to be one of the most powerful tools in the development and coaching environment. The use of the Enneagram not only fast-tracks insight, growth and integration, but also magnifies the development process over time.

Coaching is when a coach assists clients to develop their capacity to think creatively about their own value proposition, overcoming obstacles, reflecting on their interaction with people, personal/career goals, resistance to change and what their future expectations are. A coach helps clients to identify skills and capabilities that already exist within a person and enable individuals to apply those skills more resourcefully to excel in all aspects of life.

A broad range of communication methods and tools are useful to shift a client’s perception about themselves, others, and challenging situations. Coaching is a powerful method for clients to get to the real reason accompanying any human endeavour. Coaching does not require superior industry or product expertise but rather a qualified coach with excellent communication and listening skills who will ask powerful questions that will make clients realize anything is possible if they are emotionally equipped to deal with life.

Mentoring is when people who are exceptionally good at performing specific roles or tasks illustrate their competencies to those who are lacking those skills. Clients are being told or shown how to execute certain actions. Mentors also mentor progress on a regular basis and give constant feedback to individuals to ensure that clients have acquired the necessary knowledge to function independently in future.

The relationship between a Mentor and an individual is based on questions being asked by the individual and advice/training is provided by the mentor. The mentor is very involved with the level of understanding but the mentor is not managing the individual.
